PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To solve the problem that a known cloth-stretching and conveying machine whose receiving chucks used therein hold the corner parts of a cloth with movable side nipping pieces on the upper sides of forward and downward inclined fixed side nipping pieces, and in which the corner parts of the cloth are liable to be hooked on the fixed side nipping pieces, when the receiving chucks are opened. SOLUTION: The cloth-stretching and conveying machine stretches both end corners of one side of a large cloth at a predetermined height position by a pair of receiving chucks 21, 21, and then opens the receiving chucks to transfer the upper side of the hung cloth to a receiving device 4 side. In this machine, the receiving chucks 21, 21 have fixed side nipping pieces 26 disposed in forward and downward inclined attitudes, and movable side nipping pieces 27 swung and opened or closed on the basis of the lower side nipping sides of the fixed side nipping pieces, and the nipping sides of the movable side nipping pieces are opened in a vertical attitudes or more in the opened attitudes of the movable side nipping pieces 27.
