PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce power consumption required for close proximity wireless communication in a communication device which performs the close proximity wireless communication. SOLUTION: The communication device 200 is provided with an approach detection part 205 of the power consumption smaller than that of a close proximity wireless communication device 204 in a standby state. The close proximity state of the close proximity wireless communication device 204 and another close proximity wireless communication device or the cancellation of the close proximity state is detected by the approach detection part 205 and notified to a device enable/disable part 206. The device enable/disable part 206 restores the close proximity wireless communication device 204 from a sleep state when the close proximity state is detected, and turns the close proximity wireless communication device 204 to the sleep state when the cancellation of the close proximity state is detected. By operating the close proximity wireless communication device 204 only when the close proximity state is detected, the power consumption required for the close proximity wireless communication is reduced.
