Disclosed is an outer package label for a battery, which is less likely to cause a problem of an appearance caused by elution of a metallized layer during storage under a high-temperature and high-humidity environment. An outer package label (1) for a battery comprises a base material (2) formed of a heat shrinkable resin film such as polyethylene terephthalate, a print layer (5) and a protective layer (6) provided on the obverse surface side of the base material (2), and a metallized layer (3) and adhesive layer (4) provided on the reverse surface side of the base material (2), wherein the water vapor permeability is 14 to 30 g/m2·24 hr.
