A disc apparatus is provided with a playback unit (1) in which a transporting roller (5) and a disc guide (3) are provided raisably/lowerably with respect to a main apparatus body, and a moving means for moving the transporting roller and the disc guide by mutually different amounts, in tandem with an inserted disc (14) which is lowered and mounted on a turntable (6), so as not to come into contact with the disc, and a disc guide/position limiting member (102) is attached to the main apparatus body of a disc insertion aperture so as to limit movement of the playback unit towards the disc insertion aperture.
