Provided is a stacked piezoelectric element wherein durability is improved by effectively suppressing a short-circuit between adjacent internal electrode layers on an edge section of a stacked body. A stacked piezoelectric element (1) includes a prismatic stacked body (15) wherein a piezoelectric material layer (11) and an internal electrode layer (13) are alternately stacked.  In the stacked body (15) of the stacked piezoelectric element (1), a ridge section (15e) on a side circumferential surface is polished to be a chamfered section, and a linear polishing trace formed on the chamfered section extends in a direction along the internal electrode layer (13).
