<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a useful compound for the efficient production method of morphine. <P>SOLUTION: This compound is expressed by general formula (I), (II), or (III) [wherein R<SP>1</SP>is a 1-6C alkyl; R<SP>2</SP>is an amino-protecting group without substantially being eliminated under a strongly acidic condition; and R<SP>3</SP>and R<SP>4</SP>are each a 1-6C alkyl].
