PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To accurately detect whether a TMDS (Transition Minimized Differential Signaling) signal that is input is an HDMI (High-Definition Multimedia Interface) signal with voice signal or a DVI (Digital Visual Interface) signal without voice signal. SOLUTION: To a DVI/HDMI input part 11V, the TMDS signal is input. A CPU 23 controls the DVI/HDMI input part 11V and determines whether the input TMDS signal is a DVI signal without voice signal or an HDMI signal with voice signal by detecting whether or not a Guard Band exists in the TMDS signal by detecting a detection line b.
