<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a washing machine which makes it easy to take out laundry from the inside wall surface of the drum against the centrifugal force of the water expulsion operation, prevents wrinkles during drying and damage on clothes and improves the water flow to the outside of the tank. Ž<P>SOLUTION: The washing machine comprises a drum 10 having many water draining holes 11 on the cylindrical wall and protruding sections 13 protruding inside. Each protruding section 13 is extended long horizontally against its water expulsion radius direction r. Its longitudinal edge is shaped in a circular shape with a small radius (radius R2) and its perpendicular edge is shaped in a circular shape with a large radius (radius R1). These circular shapes are overlapped and an outer shape of tapered flat oval is formed. In the center of each protruding section 13, a ridgeline 13a extended in the longitudinal direction of the protruding section is formed.
