PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To suppress power consumption of an imaging apparatus while reducing a blinking degree of a subject. SOLUTION: An imaging control unit 330 calculates a shutter speed and a focal distance and uses them to determine whether or not illuminance of a subject is low. An imaging times determining unit 310 determines whether to pick up an image multiple times or once on the basis of a determination result of the imaging control unit 330. In a case where it is determined by the imaging times determining unit 310 that the image is to be picked up multiple times, an imaging timing control unit 320 instructs to pick up the image multiple times. Then, an image recording control unit 170 records only one picked-up image data item between two picked-up image data items on the basis of a result of a blinking determination by a blinking detection unit 162. Meanwhile, if it is determined by the imaging control unit 330 that illuminance is low, the imaging time determining unit 310 determines that the image is to be picked up only once, so that the imaging timing control unit 320 instructs to pick up the image just once.
