The turbine has a tower including multiple segments (10) connected with each other. A transformer unit is arranged within the segments in an area of a tower base. The transformer unit has an opening (12), whose width (A) is larger than the width of the transformer unit. The height of the opening is larger than the height of the transformer unit. The opening is detachably closed by a wall section (14) in the segments. A door opening (18) is provided in the wall section, where the tower is stepped by the door opening.
