<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a direct backlight device with high energy efficiency and little brightness variation. <P>SOLUTION: The direct backlight device includes a plurality of linear light sources arranged in parallel with each other, a reflecting plate reflecting light from the linear light sources, and a light diffusing plate receiving direct light from the linear light sources and reflected light from the reflecting plate by a light incidence face and diffusely irradiating light from a light emission face. It is further equipped with a light guide plate disposed in a side of the linear light sources, and the light guide plate is positioned in an area far from the light diffusing plate more than a plane regulated by a center line of the linear light source and a line corresponding to a middle line of adjacent linear light sources on the light incidence face of the light diffusing plate. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2010,JPO&INPIT</p> |
