PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an inkjet printer which is effective in terms of improvement of a printing quality by sticking in piling a UV ink to a printing medium in a smoothed state not to bleed, of reduction of a power consumption associated with setting of the UV ink, and of heat countermeasures, and to provide a printing method using the inkjet printer. SOLUTION: The inkjet printer includes a first carriage (printing unit 60) which is relatively reciprocated right and left to the printing medium 2 and is also relatively moved back and forth, a UVLED unit which is carried on the first carriage and temporarily sets the UV ink stuck to the printing medium 2 by casting ultraviolet rays towards the printing medium 2, and a UV lamp unit (irradiation unit 80) which is relatively reciprocated right and left to the printing medium 2, is also relatively moved back and forth and practically sets the UV ink temporarily set by the UVLED unit by casting the ultraviolet rays towards the printing medium 2.
