<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a television camera system capable of calculating the direction of an image capturing camera which is going to subsequently capture an image from an image obtained by a television camera, and presenting the calculated direction to a subject of photographing. Ž<P>SOLUTION: The television camera system 200 has: a plurality of television cameras 103-105 each for capturing images of a subject of photographing; position detecting sensors 103c-105c and auxiliary display devices 103b-105b attached to the television cameras respectively; a switcher 208 for switching the television cameras 103-105; and an image processing apparatus 211. In the television camera system, when the television camera is switched by the switcher 208, the image processing apparatus 211 detects the face of the subject of photographing to determine the direction of visual line of the subject of photographing, and causes the auxiliary display devices 103b-105b to display the direction of the switched television camera viewed from the television camera positioned in the direction of the visual line.
