<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve operability by making it possible to operate an operation button while monitoring well a display screen in which a video image is made easy to view, in a miniaturized video image display. Ž<P>SOLUTION: The imaging apparatus is configured such that: the base end portion of a video image display 20 is hinged by a hinge mechanism to a side face portion of a video camera body 8, the video image display 20 is configured to open and close between an accommodated state in which the video image display 20 is along with the side face portion of the video camera body 8 and a basic open state in which the free end portion of the video display 20 is opened so as to be apart from the video camera body 8; in the interior of opening of a display surface outer frame portion 21a in the video display 20, a video image display surface 21 is arranged in an inclined state; and an operation button 22 is arranged in the one end side portion of the display surface outer frame portion 21a adjacent to an end side portion drawn in the inner part of the video image display surface 21.
