<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for producing a gene transfer agent by which the gene transfer agent comprising a crosslinked star-shaped branched polymer can efficiently be produced. Ž<P>SOLUTION: The method for producing the gene transfer agent includes crosslinking a star-shaped branched polymer having an aromatic ring as a core and a plurality of cationic branched chains radially extended therefrom in a solvent containing an alcohol.
