<p>Methods for preparing Group IV nanocrystals. The method may generally include the use of an ultrasonic aerosol pyrolysis process (DAP). A precursor solution Including a Group IV organic compound and a non-aqueous solvent may be nebulized to form aerosol droplets. 5 Each aerosol droplet may include a plurality of liquid precursor molecules suspended in the nonaqueous solvent. The aerosol droplets may then be exposed to a series of carefully selected temperatures to initiate the formation of nanocrystals in which three temperatures exposures may be used.</p>
