PURPOSE: An apparatus and a method for preventing oil from being mixed are provided to prevent first oil from being supplied to a second oil tank by manipulating a trigger switch by mistake in case the first oil and the second oil are different. CONSTITUTION: An oil gas sucking unit(10) sucks oil gas inside a second oil tank. A heat conduction detector(40) is installed on the oil gas sucking unit and detects the thermal conductivity of the oil gas. A temperature/humidity sensor(50) is installed on the oil gas sucking unit and detects the temperature and humidity of oil gas. A database(60) stores the thermal conductivity of the first oil stored in the first oil tank. A controller(80) revises the detected thermal conductivity based on the measured temperature and the humidity. The controller compares the corrected thermal conductivity and the thermal conductivity of the database and determines whether the first oil and the second oil are same or not.
