<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a photopolymerization composition, having excellent time stability, cured at high sensitivity, and forming a cured film capable of restraining coloring due to passage of heating time, a color filter, a method for manufacturing a color filter and a liquid crystal display element. <P>SOLUTION: This photopolymerization composition includes: (A1) a sensitizing dye expressed by general formula (I); (A2) a polymerization initiator selected from a group of α-amino ketones and acyl phosphine oxides; (B) a polymerizable compound having ethylenic unsaturated linkage; and (C) a coloring agent. In the general formula (I), X indicates O, S or NR, and R indicates a hydrogen atom, alkyl group or acyl group. n indicates 0 or 1.
