<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a cold cathode discharge lamp capable of prolonging a life even when feeding a high current to the lamp. Ž<P>SOLUTION: This cold cathode discharge lamp is provided with a glass bulb 1 with discharge space 11 formed in its inside, a discharge medium sealed into the discharge space 11, and an electrode 31 provided inside the glass bulb 1, and the electrode 31 is arranged with a roll-like member 312 in an inside of a cup-like member 311 having an opening in a central side of the discharge space 11.
