<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a cleaning implement for a waterway opening/closing facility which minimizes an amount of wiping-rags resulting from cleaning a shaft of the waterway opening/closing facility having the shaft and is capable of efficiently and certainly cleaning up a lubricant on the outer periphery of the shaft without accompanying troublesome work. Ž<P>SOLUTION: The waterway opening/closing facility includes a gate A disposed on the waterway, the shaft B connected to the gate A, and a guide C1 which guides the outer periphery of the shaft B. As the shaft B guided by the guide C1 moves in the axial direction, the gate A opens and closes the waterway. The cleaning implement 1 for the waterway opening/closing facility is used to remove a lubricant applied to the outer periphery of the shaft B, and includes a scraping means 5 configured to be capable of coming into contact with part of the outer periphery of the shaft B and a holding means 6 which holds the scraping means 5 in contact with the outer periphery of the shaft B.
