PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a remote vortex flow flaw detector capable of performing the vortex flow flaw inspection of the inner surface of a liquid tank holding a liquid therein by remote operation, vertically pressing a vortex flow flaw detecting probe to a surface to be inspected by definite force, reduced in damage because following the irregularities of the surface to be inspected having wide inspection width and a high inspection speed while keeping a high detection precision. SOLUTION: The remote vortex flow flaw detector 10 is attached to a moving device 2 movable along the surface 1 to be inspected by remote operation and equipped with a vortex flow flaw detecting probe 12 for biasing probe sensors 11A and 11B having vortex flow flaw detecting coils built therein outwardly in the axial line direction thereof at a predetermined stroke, a probe holder 14 for vertically holding the axial line direction of the vortex flow flaw detecting probe to the surface 1 to be inspected upon vortex flow flaw detection, a support frame 16 for supporting the probe holder around an advance direction axis 21 advancing along the surface to be inspected and the width direction axis 22 crossing the advance direction axis at a right angle in a shakable manner and a lift device 18 for vertically raising and lowering the support frame with respect to the surface to be inspected.
