In a method of blow moulding an article, a parison is formed on a blow core 15 which is moved by an hydraulic cylinder 63 axially into a split parison die 10 fed by an injection nozzle 14; the core and parison are retracted from the die and a one piece blow mould 21 is brought into line with the core which is advanced into the mould and the parison blown to shape; the core is then retracted from the mould which is moved laterally out of the core path, and the blown article extracted. During the injection step the neck of the article is formed on the core within a split ring 52, 53 vertically reciprocable by an hydraulic cylinder 62. Before the mould is moved laterally out of the core path, gas is supplied to the article interior during its cooling via a passage 87 in the split ring carrier 51. |
