<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a device and a method for finding a 3D shape of an object by generating a viewed volume cross region based on a single image obtained from the object in a scene. <P>SOLUTION: The object 101 is illuminated and a plurality of silhouettes are projected onto a diffusion screen coplanor and in close proximity to a mask. A single image obtained from a diffusion screen like this is divided into a plurality of sub-views according to the silhouettes.
