<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an optical disk device and a recording method which provide desired recording quality even when a DVD disk is likely to be influenced by thermal interference distortion or setting is incomplete for WST (write strategy). <P>SOLUTION: A recording suspending control signal 10 suspends recording in a prescribed recording speed at a plurality of predetermined recording speed time points including an initial recording speed and a final recording speed. A parameter extracting and calculating means 6 calculates and outputs difference Δβ from a target β based on information recorded directly before suspension, calculates and outputs D2C jitter, and further calculates and outputs element jitter. A recording condition selecting and setting means 7 compares the output Δβ, D2C jitter and element jitter with regulation values K1, K2 and K3, respectively, and selects and sets a recording condition based on the comparison result. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2010,JPO&INPIT |
