PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To easy develop an application for a client device. SOLUTION: An SOAP processing part 17 of an image forming machine 1 generates a response message written in XML including document data 21 specified by the request message, and makes a communication processing part 16 to transmit it to the client device 3 upon reception of a request message from a client device 3 by the communication processing part 16. An SOAP processing part 52 of the client device 3 causes the communication processing part 51 to transmit the request message that specifies the document data 21 to the image forming machine. When a response message is received by the communication processing part 51 from the image forming machine 1, it extracts the document data 21 specified by the request message out of the response message.
