PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a device for verification of seal impression, capable of accurately discriminating a similar character. SOLUTION: In the device for verification of seal impression, thresholds of a fixed size of a rectangular area and a different pixel number are determined according to the size of a seal impression (step S18 and steps S19-S21), and similar character determination processing is performed using them (step S22). According to this, the possibility of determining a read seal impression different from a registered seal impression as being matched can be reduced, and the possibility of determining the same seal impression as the registered seal impression as being a similar character can be reduced.
