<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a slide adjusting device capable of performing continuous control of the angle and slide of a movable part and capable of performing quiet operation without making noise. Ž<P>SOLUTION: The slide operation device includes a movable member 12, lock members 13, 23, an elastic member 14 and an operation member. An outer member to which an external force can be applied is connected to the movable member 12. A shaft member 10 penetrates the movable member 12 which is movable in the axial direction of the shaft member. The lock members 13, 23 are arranged on the shaft member in a pair, inclined relative to the shaft member and engaged with it by the contact of the movable member, so that they may lock the movement of the movable member by the engagement. The elastic member 14 is arranged between the pair of lock members and urges the lock members to come to the inclined state so that they may be engaged with the movable member. The operation member moves the movable member 12 by coming into contact with the movable member by the moving operation of the shaft member in the axial direction. When the external force is applied to the outer member, the movable member comes into contact with the lock member, so that the movement of the movable member may be locked, and the moving operation toward the operation member reduces the inclination of the pair of the lock members, so that the locked state may be released.
