<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an air-conditioning apparatus for a vehicle easily adaptable both for the specifications of a vehicle type introducing only cold air to a rear vent duct and a specification of a vehicle-type that introduces mixed conditioned air. Ž<P>SOLUTION: First and second case sections 80, 80' forming an air stream path on the downstream side of a heater core 24 are structured divided from a case body 21, and is configured to be selectively attachable relative to the case body 21. An opening 80d is formed in the first case section 80; in a condition where a warm air duct 90 supplied warm air via an air mix door 51 which adjusts the mixed conditioned air detachably connected to the rear vent duct 70; the opening 80d is configured to be connected to the rear vent duct 70 via the warm air duct 90; whereas the second case section 80' is formed into a shape with its opening blocked, and the connection with the rear vent duct 70 is shut off, in a detached condition of the warm air duct 90.
