<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a sheet transport apparatus which can be opened in the vicinity of a guide member but prevents the spring biasing the guide member from being touched. Ž<P>SOLUTION: Each coil spring 82 is fitted in and supported by each recessed portion 81b at a bottom face 81a of a support frame 81 and each recessed portion 73c at an upper face 73b of an inner guide 73. In other words, most part of the coil spring 82 is enclosed inside the recessed portion 81b of the support frame 81 and the recessed portion 73c of the inner guide 73, and covered and hidden by a sidewall 81f of the recessed portion 81b and a sidewall 73d of the recessed portion 73c. Even when a sidewall 83 of an apparatus body A is opened to release the vicinities of a sheet transport path S and the inner guide 73, therefore, the coil springs 82 are not exposed, eliminating the risk of removing any of the coil springs 82 or damaging themselves by an inadvertent operation or the like.
