<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent reduction in efficiency of data refresh processing while coping with interruption of a power source. Ž<P>SOLUTION: A flash ROM 114 holds positional information indicating the position of an auxiliary track secured on a disk 101. A CPU 115 reads data of the track on the disk 101 to be refreshed from a head 102, and performs refresh control for writing the read data to the auxiliary track indicated by the positional information by the head. Then, the CPU 115 updates the positional information so as to indicate the position of the track from which data are read in order to switch the track from which the data are read to a new auxiliary track.
