ROTATING ELECTRIC DEVICE CONTROL SYSTEM AND VEHICLE DRIVE SYSTEM

Provided is a rotating electric device control system which can suppress power consumption to prevent battery overcurrent even when the battery voltage is boosted to drive a rotating electric device while the power consumption is large. The rotating electric device control system includes: a frequency conversion unit which is arranged between a rotating electric device for driving a vehicle and a DC power source for supplying power to the rotating device and converts the output of the DC power source into AC power source at least when the rotating electric device is powering; a voltage conversion unit which is arranged between the DC power source and the frequency conversion unit and boosts the output of the DC power source in accordance with a boost instruction value set according to a target torque and an rpm of the rotating electric device; and a control unit which controls the frequency conversion unit and the voltage conversion unit.  The control unit limits increase of the boost instruction value when the power consumption of the rotating electric device exceeds a predetermined power limit value.
