The method involves rotating a rotor (1) in a chamber to a right rotating position (13b) without any obstacle. A signal is produced if the rotor is rotated to the rotating position. The rotor is detachably locked with the chamber in a rotating position (12) by locking bolts (5), where the rotating position lies between an output rotating position (11) and the right rotating position. Another signal that is different from the former signal is produced after the rotor is detachably locked with the chamber in the rotating position. An independent claim is also included for an ignition switch of a vehicle.
