ROTARY ELECTRIC MACHINE DRIVE SYSTEM, CONVERTER FOR POWER GENERATOR, AND ROTARY ELECTRIC MACHINE

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To achieve high power of a rotary electric machine and to achieve an arrangement that drives a rotary electric machine at high speed in a rotary electric machine drive system and a rotary electric machine.

SOLUTION: The rotary electric machine drive system, i.e. an inverter 10a, includes a plurality of switching elements 12u, 12v and 12w, and converts a supplied DC current into an AC current which is supplied to the stator windings 18u, 18v and 18w of a plurality of phases on the side of a stator 20 constituting a rotary electric machine 16 in order to drive the rotary electric machine 16. The inverter 10a includes a capacitor 22 which is connected to the rotary electric machine 16 side of the switching elements 12u, 12v and 12w provided for respective phases and is connected in series with the stator windings 18u, 18v and 18w during use.
