<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To solve the problem wherein all printing devices are powered on to waste energy if only a single host device is in operation. <P>SOLUTION: A printing system includes printing devices, host devices and an administrative server all connected together through a network. Each printing device operates in one of a plurality of operation modes.
