<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a liquid crystal display device which can solve a problem of color separation and luminance deficiency and can be made thinner and manufactured at lower costs. <P>SOLUTION: The liquid crystal display device includes a light source, an optical adjustment member and a liquid crystal display panel. The optical adjustment member includes a light-transmissive base and a plurality of linear bodies disposed on the base, a cross-section orthogonally crossing the extension direction of the linear body includes a first cross-section part having a triangle shape demarcated by first to third sides and a second cross-section part having a plurality of triangle shape bodies each of which has an area smaller than that of the first cross-section part and is demarcated by fourth to sixth sides, the first side of the first cross-section part contacts with the surface of the base in parallel, the second cross-section part is disposed on the second side of the first cross-section part and the fourth side of the second cross-section part contacts with the second side of the first cross-section part in parallel. The liquid crystal display panel having a polarizing plate arranged in the direction to which a P-polarized light component is transmitted is disposed on the light emission surface side of the optical adjustment member.
