<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To allow access to a memory storing failure information to use the failure information even when a CPU stops, in a file sharing system. Ž<P>SOLUTION: When a failure occurs on each substrate 10, 20, 30, a control circuit (a CPU 11, an FPGA (Field Programmable Gate Array) 13, a BMC (Baseboard Management Controller) 21, an SFP (Small Form-Factor Pluggable) 31, a PXH 32) on each substrate detects the failure, and stores it in an NVRAM 22. In a normal case, an OS (Operating System) reads the failure information and transmits it to a maintaining PC. In time of an OS stop, by an instruction from the maintaining PC, the BMC 21 reads the failure information from the NVRAM 22. When an operator operates a manual switch 60 when power supply also stops, the BMC 21 operates by power from a battery 24, and acquires the failure information from the NVRAM 22.
