<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a mobile terminal device which includes an input section for displaying an image on key tops and consumes extremely small power. Ž<P>SOLUTION: A mobile telephone machine 1 includes a manipulation input section 15 with a display function, character display sections 16, and an optical sensor 29. The manipulation input section 15 with a display function includes a plurality of key tops 19 which have no predetermined display and can display an image of an arbitrary character, symbol, etc. The character display sections 16 are provided in the vicinity of respective key tops 19. A display of each character display section 16 is associated with at least either one of input values of a corresponding key top 19. The mobile telephone machine 1 makes the key tops 19 black out when the illuminance detected by the optical sensor 19 is a predetermined threshold or above while making the key tops 19 light up when the illuminance detected by the optical sensor is lower than the threshold.
