<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a conveying device, which accommodates transfer sheets of various sizes, automatically detects the size of each transfer paper, parallelly conveys transfer sheets by changing paper insertion control according to each size, determines a paper type and paper thickness by automatic detection even for transfer sheets of different paper types and paper thicknesses, conveys sheets parallelly, and is free from a drop of CPM (processing speed) even in parallel conveyance of transfer sheets of different sizes, and to provide an image forming apparatus with the conveying device. <P>SOLUTION: In the conveying device that conveys the transfer sheets in parallel with a plurality of conveying paths, a partition for a paper feed tray bottom plate 2 can be changed according to a size so as to enable parallel conveyance of transfer sheets of various sizes. The conveying device includes automatic detection sensors 33 and 34 that automatically detect a paper type and paper thickness in parallel conveyance of transfer sheets of different sizes. The conveying device includes a fixing means by which, using the action of electromagnetic force, fixing pressure can be changed according to a different size based on information detected automatically, fixing can be carried out according to a different size, and sheets are parallelly conveyed. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2010,JPO&INPIT</p> |
