<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method of manufacturing a pin-shaped male terminal for a board-mounting connecter capable of securing the accuracy of rear leg portions without being affected by springback. <P>SOLUTION: In the method of manufacturing a male terminal for a board-mounting connector, wherein the male terminal includes two L-shaped bent portions 13 and 14 formed at its intermediate portion between its front and rear ends, a straight electrical contact portion 11 formed at its front end, and a straight rear leg portion that is soldered to the board, a flat plate material 1 is stamped to form the male terminal including the two bent portions, the electrical contact portion, and the rear leg portion 12. Here, a plurality of male terminals each having a substantially Z-shape are stamped in a chained condition out of a flat plate such that interconnecting portions 2 interconnect proximal end portions of the electrical contact portions. In particular, the male terminals are stamped such that they are arranged parallel to one another, with the electrical contact portions and the rear leg portions inclined relative to a transverse direction X and a longitudinal direction Y of the flat plate.
