<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a mold monitoring apparatus which does not bring about erroneous determination by the influence of the visible light in the circumference of the mold and which unnecessitates a complicated/advanced irradiation technique. Ž<P>SOLUTION: The apparatus is equipped with the IR imaging means 1 which outputs the IR imaging data obtained by detecting two-dimensionally the radiant intensity of the IR radiated from the inside of the mold 105 which has completed the ejection of the molded product, the master image storing means 3 which stores the master image data obtained by detecting two-dimensionally the radiant intensity of the IR radiated from the inside of the mold 105 in which the molded product does not remain, and the arithmetic processing means 4 which determines the presence or absence of the remaining object in the inside of the mold by the difference of the IR radiant intensities extracted by the comparison of the IR imaging data and master image data.
