<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an electrolyte-electrode assembly for avoiding the occurrence of crack even when the electrolyte-electrode assembly is deflected. <P>SOLUTION: On the end faces of a main electrolyte 26, sub electrolytes 28a, 28b are provided to form the laminated electrolyte 16. An intermediate layer 20 formed on the laminated electrolyte 16 at the side of the sub electrolyte 28b has almost the same height (thickness) and consists of a plurality of intermediate layer groups 21 spaced apart from each other at approximately equal spaces. On each of the intermediate layer groups 21, an electrode group 22 is laminated to constitute a cathode side electrode 14. Namely, the electrolyte-electrode assembly 10 has the intermediate layer 20 and the cathode side electrode 14 patterned.
