PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide hollow inorganic particles in which a shell is a porous body containing an inorganic oxide, etc., and a core is hollow, and which are useful as, for example, a colorant for a coating material or the like.

SOLUTION: Slurry containing an inorganic oxide and at least one property-imparting component selected from a metal having a particle diameter of 1-100 nm and a metal ion is atomized preferably under heating at <200°C to obtain the objective hollow inorganic particles in which a shell is a porous body containing the inorganic oxide and the property-imparting component, and a core is hollow.
