<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a transverse wave power generation system for preserving resources, and securing a natural environment and electric power. Ž<P>SOLUTION: This transverse wave power generation system is constituted so that a freight car 3 is freely reciprocated up to the sea surface from the land in a wave easily generating place; a hydraulic lifting device is installed in the freight car; a wave receiving plate 11 is freely reciprocated up to the sea bottom from the sea surface by operating a piston 6; a support shaft of the wave receiving plate 11 is set on the sea surface side; the wave receiving plate is set in the water; the wave receiving plate is slid by the transverse movement of a wave; a slide bar 9 and a rod 12 are interlocked in response to the wave receiving plate; and electric power is generated by simultaneously moving a permanent magnet 13 and a coil 14 in the inverse directions.
