<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a disk drive device which reduces size and manufacturing cost. Ž<P>SOLUTION: The disk drive device is provided with: two optical pickups 3, 3 which have respectively guide shafts 14, 14 attached to a base chassis 2, a base body 4, and an objective lens drive device 5 arranged at the a base body, and are arranged respectively on the sides across an aperture part 2a at the base chassis; a disk rotating unit 16 which has a disk table 19 on which a disk-shaped recording medium 100 is placed and a spindle motor 18 rotating the disk table, and are moved at the aperture part and guided by the guide shaft in the radial direction of the disk-shaped recording medium placed on the disk table; and a moving mechanism 21 having a drive motor 6 moving the disk rotating unit in the radial direction of the disk-shaped recording medium.
