<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To enable a first processing unit to release a memory area from which data is already read without executing complicated processing, in an information processing apparatus in which a second processing unit reads data written into a memory by the first processing unit. Ž<P>SOLUTION: The information processing apparatus includes the memory, the first processing unit for storing data in the memory, and the second processing unit for reading the data stored in the memory. When storing data into the memory, the first processing unit adds information indicating a use condition of the data with an indication of an unused state, and releases a memory area storing data indicating that it is already used as the use condition out of data stored in the memory. The second processing unit reads data from the memory, then updates the information indicating the use condition of the read data to indicate that it is already used.
