<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image forming optical system for excellently correcting various aberration centering miniaturization, thinning and color aberration of the optical system, and to provide an electronic imaging apparatus for sharpening images and preventing occurrence of color blurring. Ž<P>SOLUTION: The image forming optical system arranges a positive lens group on an object side rather than an aperture diaphragm, and includes θgF1 or the like of at least one lens LA composing the positive lens group in three regions of a region for setting a straight line expressed by θgF1=α1×νd1+βgF1 (herein, α1=-0.00264), and decided on another straight line in a lower limit value of a range of a first conditional equation and the other straight line in an upper limit value, another region for setting a straight line expressed by nd1=a1×νd1+b1 (herein, a1=-0.0267), and decided on another straight line in a lower limit value of a range of a second conditional equation and the other straight line in an upper limit value, and the other region decided on a third conditional equation.
