<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To curtail molding time dramatically in a foam container molding die with a relief formed in its side-wall. Ž<P>SOLUTION: A relief forming member 7 to form a relief is composed empty by a punching metal with vent-holes 18 and attached to an opening 9 located in a female die 3. Time required for heating a foaming resin is dramatically curtailed by feeding steam directly to a cavity space 10 from the vent-holes 18 of the relief forming member 7 in a heating process. Also, temperature of the relief forming member 7 is notably reduced by reducing heat capacity due to empty relief forming member 7 in a water cooling process of a die 2. Further, time required for cooling the relief forming member 7 is dramatically curtailed by stripping of massive vaporization heat from the relief forming member 7 due to evaporation of water drops adhered inside of the relief forming member 7 in a vacuum cooling process.
