PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent a music from being interrupted in the middle of recording by detecting the end position of a music section. SOLUTION: A voice recording and reproducing device is provided with: a music detection means 21 which performs frequency analysis of digital sound data and detects the start and end positions of the music section; a temporary end position storage means 22; and a temporary record erasure means 23. The music detection means 21 comprises a reference value, a first threshold higher than the reference value, and a second threshold lower than the reference value. When the music detection means 21 detects that an analyzed value obtained by analyzing the frequency of digital music data is higher than the first threshold, recording is started. When detecting that the analyzed value is lower than the second threshold value, the end position of the music section is determined, the temporary end position is stored in the temporary end position storage means 22, and monitoring of the frequency and recording of the music section are continued for a predetermined period. If not detecting during the predetermined period that the analyzed value is higher than the first threshold, the temporary record erasure means 23 erases the record after the temporary end position.
