<p>Provided is a sheet-of-paper processing device enabling correct determination of authenticity even if transportation member induces a production error. The sheet-of-paper processing device includes a transportation roller for transporting a sheet of paper inserted in the insertion slot, a sheet-of-paper reading means (8) for reading the sheet of paper transported by the transportation roller, a detecting means (231) for detecting a measured value of the length of a predetermined region of the sheet in the direction in which the sheet is transported, a storage means (233) storing a reference value of the length of the predetermined region of the sheet, and an authenticity determining section (230) for determining the authenticity of the sheet of paper on the basis of the result of comparison of the measured value with the reference value. The length of the predetermined region is calculated after reading an authentic sheet. The reference value is determined from the calculated length, the theoretical value which is the length of the predetermined region of an authentic sheet, and an allowable value determined for authentic sheets with respect to the theoretical value.</p> |
