Disclosed are a recording head which can utilize heat generated by heating elements effectively, and a recorder equipped with this recording head. A thermal head (X) has a plurality of heating elements (H) arranged on a substrate (10), a plurality of first conductive layers (41) respectively connected with the heating elements (H), and a protective layer (50) covering the heating elements (H) and the first conductive layers (41). Each first conductive layer (41) includes a first connection part (411) directly connected with a heating element (H), and a first wiring part (412) having a thickness (T12) thicker than that of the first connection part (411). When viewed from the direction (D6), the protective layer (50) has a first separation part (50a) where the protective layer (50) is separated partially in a region between the first wiring part (412) of one first conductive layer (41) in the main scanning direction (D1, D2) and the first wiring part (412) of another first conductive layer (41) adjacent to the one first conductive layer (41). The first separation part (50a) extends in the direction of lamination (D5, D6).
